Barbara Mary Ann Koford

Tremonton-Barbara Mary Ann Thompson Koford, 93, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 in Tremonton at the Bear River Valley Care Center. She was born September 27, 1917 in Centerfield, UT to Roy Leo and Leah Myrup Thompson. She moved to Tremonton in 1933.
Barbara married Niel H. Koford on November 19, 1937 in Ogden, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized on March 25, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. Niel died September 8, 1998. Barbara worked ten and 1/2 years for Thiokol Food Service where she was famous for her homemade pies. She loved to cook for family and friends when they came over to visit. She loved to crochet edges around hankies and she loved to do word puzzles. She cherished her time with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Barbara was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings including as Primary Teacher, Secretary in the Primary Presidency and Ward Librarian. Barbara is survived by one son Danny LeRoy Koford, Daughter-in-law Pat Koford, four grandsons: Mike Christy Koford, Ron Mandy Koford, James Maryann May, Matt May; six great granddaughters and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Barbara LaRee May, son Gary Lee Koford, two brothers and five sisters.
The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at Bear River Valley Care Center and Alpine Hospice for the care they have given to Barbara.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30-10:40 a.m. Interment will follow in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
