Audrey Cecil Rice Haymore

November 18, 1935 — May 15, 2011

Audrey Cecil Rice Haymore Our beloved Mother, Audrey Cecil Rice Haymore of Hyrum peacefully passed away Sun, May 15, 2011 at her home, after enduring years of heart and lung disease. Audrey was born Nov. 18, 1935 in Acme, WV a small coal-mining camp to Virginia Mabel Massey and Cecil Edward Rice. She was named Audrey Cecil after her father. She loved growing up in WV and told us countless stories of family gatherings, friends and her childhood adventures with her 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She often sang the song "Take me home, country roads, to the place I belong, West Virginia". She graduated from East Bank High School in Leewood, WV in 1953. After graduation, she worked at the Polio Hospital in Marmet, WV where she developed a passion for loving, serving, and caring for others. During High School, the missionaries from the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, taught her and her family the gospel and they were baptized. In 1954, her family left WV and relocated to CA to be closer to members of the church and for more opportunities. Once in CA, she continued her love of caring for others and became a Home Health Care Nurse and Housekeeper for a local family. It was through this employment that she met her future husband, Grant Arthur Haymore. He asked Mom on a date that first day and they were married 5 months later on Oct 6, 1955 in the Mesa AZ Temple. Grant & Audrey made Nicolaus, CA their home for almost 20 yrs. They owned a dairy farm including walnut orchards and tomato crops. Dad loved farming and Mom was the perfect farmers wife. She loved making his lunch and walking it out to him wherever he was on the property. Together they had 6 children, 2 sons, & 4 daughters. In 1973 they made a decision to sell the CA farm and purchase a UT dairy farm operation. They relocated to Paradise, UT. Mom was so happy there, helping her husband and watching her children grow up. She often mentioned how content she was "living in Paradise". In 1986 Mom & Dad left the farming business and moved "into town". They purchased a home in Hyrum where Mom lived until her passing. Mom's favorite things in life are her family and friends, caring for others, serving in the Church, getting her hair done, collections, cook books, geneology, and missionary work. She has served tirelessly in numerous callings in the Church including teaching early morning seminary, RS Pres, YW Pres, Primary Pres, Ward missionary, and her favorite..visiting teacher! Her charity knows no bounds. Her greatest compliment is that everyone feels welcome and loved in her home! We love you Mom and know we will see you again! She is preceded in death by her husband: Grant A. Haymore, Brothers: David Rice & Kenneth Rice, Parents: Cecil & Mabel Rice, Daughter In Law: Sheri Reid Haymore. Surviving include her children: Ed Haymore, Carolyn Kelly Smith, Grant Wayne Haymore, Lisa Kim Clark, Kris Lance Clark, Margaret Ryan Poppleton. 18 Wonderful Grandchildren & 5 Great Grandchildren. 2 Brothers: Clyde Carlene Rice, Alvin Linda Rice. 3 Sisters: Helen Purbaugh, Ginny Mike Tremayne, & Debbie Randy Gaudin.
