Arvid Fredrickson

Garland ? Arvid Fredrickson, 85, passed away March 20, 2002 at the McKay Dee Medical Center in Ogden. He was born September 28, 1916 in Roosevelt UT, to Gustave F. Fredrickson and Lydia Gertrude Cook. He married Ruth Jorgensen on Jan 9, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away August 13, 1971. Arvid married Ruby H. Yoder on June 23, 1975 in the Logan LDS Temple. Arvid was reared and educated in Roosevelt, graduating from Roosevelt High School. He served an LDS mission to Sweden until World War II broke out in 1939. He then served in the North Central States Mission until the fall of 1941. He joined the Army Air Corps and served until 1945. He worked as a mechanic in Roosevelt. He left with his family in 1953 to settle in the Bear River Valley. He was a mechanic for the Box Elder County School District and stayed there until he retired. Arvid has been actively involved in his church callings by participating in the MIA Program, Sunday School and Priesthood Leadership. Arvid and Ruby served as Officiators in the Logan Temple for nine years. He is survived by his wife Ruby of Garland, and his children, Arvid Lee Linda Fredrickson, Surrey, BC Canada; Neil J.Marsha Fredrickson, Sherwood, OR; Gaylen DianeFredrickson, Pocatello, ID; Ray K. Rosalie Yoder, Garland; Dennis C. Annette Yoder, Garland; Jacqueline Tom Magee, Clearfield; Paul R. Dixie Yoder, Garland; 28 Grandchildren and 32 Great Grandchildren with 3 more on the way. He is also survived by 1 brother, Grant, and 1 sister, Beth Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers and sisters, his wife Ruth and son, Dale. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the Garland Tabernacle with Bishop G. Ray Manning conducting. Friends and family may call at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Sunday, March 24th from 5-7 p.m. and at the Garland Tabernacle prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
