Tremonton – Arthur Don Crane, 87, died July 14, 2011 at the home of his daughter surrounded by his family. He was born January 31, 1924 in Herriman, Utah to Arthur Willard and Elizabeth Emma Crane. On May 5, 1948 he married his sweetheart Elva Jones in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a graduate of Jordon High. He received a bachelor's degree from University of Utah and BYU. He received his Master's degree from USU. Arthur served his country during World War II in the Army Aircorp where he received the rank of Sergeant. Arthur farmed and ranched in Millburn, Utah. He then worked with the Boy Scouts of America as a Professional Scout Executive where he and his family lived in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. At that time he was hired by the LDS church to teach seminary in Brigham City, Utah, where he taught for 8 years. He then went on to start Institute programs at Louisiana State University, Lamar University, Steven F. Austin, and Southeastern Louisiana University. He was a faithful member of the church. He served in many positions. Bishop, twice, numerous High Councils, and taught many different religious classes. With his wife they served CES Missions to South Dakota, Papua New Guinea, Brisbane, Australia, and Tuba City, Arizona, along with two service missions. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters and a brother. He is survived by his children, Pamela Larry Richardson, Brittany, La, Cory DaNae Crane, Perry, Ut, Wendy Louis Davison, Lehi, Ut, and Linda Gordon Cutler, Tremonton, Ut. 16 grandchildren and too many great grandchildren to count. A viewing will be held Thursday the 21st at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 22, at the Tremonton West Stake Center 345 S. 1000 W. Friends may call prior to the services from 9-9:45 am at the Tremonton West Stake Center. Interment will follow in the Herriman City Cemetery at 3 pm.
