She was the only daughter of five children, and has two older brothers and two younger brothers. Arline's family moved from Huntsville to Ogden where she attended Mound Fort Grade School. Later, the family located in Logan, where she received her formal education, and lived the rest of her life. She married W. Merrill Worthen on July 21, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple. Arline was active in the LDS Church, serving in many capacities, and for many years in the Mutual Improvement Organization YM/YW, and in the Relief Society organization, and for 17 years as temple worker in the Logan LDS Temple. Her talents as an artist were known throughout the valley, she painted lovely oil paintings for friends, family and the foyer of her own ward building. Arline designed the scenery for Logan High School musicals, and many ward Gold and Green Balls and Roadshows. She also had a beautiful alto voice and sang with the Towne Singers for many years. Arline was preceded in death by her husband Merrill, and brothers Marvin, Shirley and Calvert.
