Ardes Margarette Adams

Ardes Margarette Adams Tremonton ? Ardes Margarette Adams, 94, passed away March 25, 2002, at the Mountain View Hospital in Payson, UT. A native of East Garland, born on January 9, 1908, to Delos Edgar and Hannah Christina Peterson Adams. She was the fifth child in a family of six boys and six girls. After graduating from Bear River High School she attended and graduated from Utah State Agricultural College, where she earned her Bachelor?s Degree in Elementary Education. She began teaching in 1928 in Elwood, UT, and has taught in Garland, McKinley and North Park Elementary Schools. She taught kindergarten, first and second grade. Throughout her 45 year teaching career she taught over 1500 students. She was Vice President of the BEEA in 1957-1958 and was chosen teacher of the year in 1960. She was a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She retired from teaching in 1973. Following retirement she was a Pink Lady at the Tremonton Hospital. She traveled extensively and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She found great joy in taking care of her yard and making it beautiful. She was a member of the Fairview Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in all of the organizations. She left a legacy of unselfish service and love to all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by a brother, Carroll Adams and numerous nieces and nephews who dearly loved her and will miss the funny faces. The family wishes to express appreciation to the Payson Hospital, her special friends and neighbors. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Fairview LDS Ward Chapel, 166 North Tremont, Tremonton. Friends may call Friday, March 29th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Roger and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Saturday, March 30th from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the East Garland Cemetery.
