Elwood, Annie Elizabeth Grant Thompson, 94, died Friday, September 28, 2007 at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden from complications following a fall. Annie was born July 24, 1913 in Honeyville, Utah to Guy and Mary Belle Bryan Grant. She was reared and educated in Honeyville and a graduate of Box Elder High School. She married Trent Carroll Thompson November 1, 1932 in Ogden, Utah. Since their marriage, she and Trent lived in Elwood. After 72 years of marriage, Trent died March 31, 2005.and since August 2005 she resided at the Bear River Care Center in Tremonton. Annie worked as a waitress at several/various Cafes in the Bear River Valley. She loved to quilt and crochet. Annie was a member of the Elwood LDS Ward and served in the past as Relief Society Visiting Teacher and quilt director. Surviving are five daughters and one son; CarolynDoyle Rasmussen, Henderson, NV; Annetta Charles, deceased Ames, Ivins, UT; Kae Gary Hill, Plain City, UT; Mary Jane Lynne Bowen, Beaver Dam, UT; Claudia Jay Goodell, Farr West, UT; RonBarbara Thompson, Elwood, UT; She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, 46 great, great grandchildren and one great, great, great granddaughter; two sisters Jane Workman, Salt Lake City, UT and Guyla Olsen, Bountiful, UT.
Annie was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, one son-in-law, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at the Elwood Ward Meeting House, 4865 West 9600 N., Elwood, with Bishop Thomas J. Miller, officiating. A viewing will be held, at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N. 100 E., Tremonton, Monday 6-8- p.m. and at the church Tuesday from 9:15 a.m to 10:30. Burial will be in the Bear River City Cemetery. The family wishes to express appreciation for the wonderful care given by the Bear River Care Center and the McKay Dee Medical Center staffs.
