Anna Marie Hancey Ormond, 83, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully at the University of Utah Hospital Thursday May 4, 2006 surrounded by family members. She was born January 10, 1923 in Hyde Park, Utah to Florence Reeder and Leander Hancey. She graduated from North Cache High School in 1941. She worked as a secretary for Logan Savings and Loan until 1943. She married NaRay H. Ormond in the Logan L.D.S. Temple on October 19, 1943. They are the parents of 5 children. She and her husband lived in the greater Chicago area for 17 years, in Mitchell, SD for 4 years, in Estherville, IA for 6 years, and in Des Moines, IA for 25 years. She and NaRay returned to Logan in 2000. Anna had the privilege of serving a temple mission with her husband in the Chicago, IL LDS Temple. She also had the opportunity to work in the Logan Temple. She has served faithfully in the Primary and in many Relief Society presidencies. She was an extremely proficient seamstress and quilter. She also did many pieces of counted cross-stitch work. She loved to serve others in any way she could, including crocheting bandages for the Humanitarian Services. She was an avid reader and quick mathematician. She is survived by her husband, NaRay; three sons, Michael Ormond, St. George, UT; Mark Jeanette Ormond, Cedar City, UT; Charles Tammy Ormond, Houston, TX; daughter Susan Tom Nelson, Syracuse, UT, seventeen grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Maurice Hancey, Logan; Roland Pat Hancey, Logan; Charles Zona Hancey, Ogden; two sister, Lois Ballard, Logan; and Faye Wayne Bankhead, Wellsville; one brother-in-law, Jim Morgan; and two sister-in-laws, Rosalie Hancey, Lewiston; and Jacky Hancey, Millvile. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Owen Hancey; three sisters, Ellen McKenney, Marj Morgan, and Dawn Hancey; one son, David Ormond, and one grandson, Wayne Nelson. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 10, ?06 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm followed by funeral services at 1 pm. Both the viewing and funeral will be held at the Logan LDS Hillcrest First Ward on 875 N 1500 E. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at
