Amy Nielsen Nielsen, 35, passed away from complications of throat surgery Monday, March 17, 2008. Amy was born on September 29, 1972 in Logan, Utah to Dale Leishman Nielsen and Jody Lawrence Nielsen. After graduating from Mountain Crest High School in 1990, Amy met the love of her life the summer of 1990 – Cameron Dale Nielsen, son of Dale Dee Nielsen and Marilyn Low Nielsen. They were married and sealed in the Logan Temple on September 10, 1992. Their marriage was then blessed with four sweet spirits: Shelby Dale 12, Madison Eliza 9, Abigail Rose 5, and Alex Cameron 3. Amy was a devoted mother, wife, loving daughter and daughter-in-law, a sweet sister and sister-in-law. Amy loved to go on 4-wheeler rides with her husband. She was a soccer Mom, Nascar fan and loved to camp. Organized, hard working, fun loving was how Amy lived her life. An active member of the Smithfield 18th Ward, she has served as a primary teacher, young women leader and on the activities committee. Amy loved reading and because of this, her children all love books, reading and learning. Employed in the Home Health Care field for 14 years, she loved her work and all those she came in contact with daily. She was preceded in death by Grandpa and Grandma Lawrence, Grandpa and Grandma Low, Grandma Cleah Nielsen and nephew, Brendan. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, March 21, 2008 at the Smithfield 18th Ward Chapel, 625 East 600 South . Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at Zion's Bank or USU Credit Union in care of Nielsen Family Memorial Fund.
