Alpha LaVon? Peggy? Stratton Henderson, 91, passed away at her home on March 3, 2004 after an extended illness. She was born February 10, 1913 in Logan, Utah, the youngest of four children, to Thomas George Stratton and Anna Kathryn Peterson Stratton. She married Herman B. Henderson on May 9, 1931 in Logan, Utah. She was raised and educated in Logan and worked her way through high school. She was known throughout the valley for her expert sewing, which she did to supplement the family income. She is survived by two sons: Tom Donna Henderson, West Valley City, Utah; Darrell Henderson, Malad, Idaho; two daughters: Faye Gary Haworth, Roy, Utah; Gayle Richman, Smithfield; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren and three great-great step grandchildren. She is also survived by a half brother, Bill Hellen Stratton, Pocatello, Idaho; two half sisters: Alice Dale Weatherston, Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Jennie Don Schmier, Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, LaVon Henderson; one grandson, her parents, one sister and two brothers. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the Smithfield City Cemetery. A family viewing will be held from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield. Condolences to the family may be extended to the family online at
