Allan Jesse Roskelley

Allan Jesse Roskelley, 59, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, in the home of his son and ex-wife, one month after being diagnosed with cancer. Allan was born on December 14, 1951, to Mary Kathryn Murphy and O. Keith Roskelley, the youngest of 5 children. He was a native of Smithfield, and considered it the best place to live. He was educated in Summit Grade School and graduated from Sky View High in 1970.
He married Linda Kofoed on June 12, 1970. They had a son, Patrick A. Roskelley. The marriage ended in divorce 31 years later.
Allan worked for Cache Valley Dairy as a young man, and in 1972 was hired by Schreiber Foods Inc., he continued working in various positions there for 39 years. Allan enjoyed going on off road trips in the mountains and knew the forest roads well. A steak cooked over a fire with good company made him happiest. He always enjoyed the companionship of a good dog at any time in his life.
Allan is survived by his son, Patrick, and his brother and sisters, Linda Pickett, Ruth Owen and Ronald Roskelley. He was preceeded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and his sister, Nancey.
A viewing will take place at Nelson Funeral Home of Smithfield 85 South Main St. Saturday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:30. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 11th at 12:00 PM in the Smithfield City Cemetery.
