Alice Christopherson Harris celebrated her reunion with her dear husband on November 14, 2006, following her passing at her daughter?s home in Fielding, Utah. She was born December 11, 1916 in Fielding, Utah in the home of her grandparents. She was the second daughter born to Lawrence Carl and Rhoda Dalton Christopherson. She had a stillborn twin brother.
She loved everyone and made friends everywhere. She attended Garland Elementary where she ran track. She graduated from Bear River High School. She was a singer, a straight A student, and a retold storyteller.
In high school she met her eternal sweetheart, Jay Dee Harris, and they were married September 11, 1935 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. He passed away September 24, 2006. Heavenly Father knew of their eternal devotion to each other and allowed her to join him just a short seven weeks and one day apart. As a family, we rejoice in their eternal reunion.
Alice worked in the post office in Tremonton and became the assistant post mistress. She helped out at her husband?s business whenever she was needed. She drove truck, pumped gasoline, and kept the books.
She worked diligently in her church, serving in the presidencies of all the auxiliaries, and as a teacher. She sustained her husband in his callings as stake president and high counselor.
Her greatest career was being a wife and mother. Alice was blessed to be the mother of two children, Mathew J. Mary, deceased, and Christy Lynn Richards. She diligently taught her children the gospel and continued to teach and love her grandchildren: Karen Shawn Moyes, Lynn Jay Dawn Richards, William Dirk Dawn Richards, Nicholas Rex Amber Richards, Camille Ryan Leishman, David Ross Jayme Richards, Timothy Craig Richards, Zachary Joel Harris, Rachael Anne Carter, Nathaniel A. Harris and 16 great grandchildren. She was adored by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, her parents, her three sisters: Myrl Fennell, Olive Gunnell, Amy Wright; one brother, D.O.; and one great grandson, Carson Drew Richards.
We want to thank our Hospice nurses: Carol, RaLynn and Cilphanee; our homecare aids: Mavis, Kelly, Camille, Sara, and Vicki Archibald for their love and caring of Mother. They brightened her life and our home with their love and service. We are grateful for the care she has received from Dr. Rodney Merrell, Dr. Michael Stones, the Bear River Care Center, her daughter and her family members.
