Aileen Jardine Larson died peacefully at the home of her eldest daughter at 5 p.m. March 16, 2014. She was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Clarkston, Utah, to Blanche Victoria and Leo Joshua Jardine and lived most of her married life in Ogden, Utah, where she raised her three children. Widowed in her late 30s, Aileen built a thriving sewing and monogramming business while also working as a tireless, dedicated member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers DUP, serving as the President of the Weber County Chapter for more than 10 years.
Aileen was an ardent fundraiser for the historic DUP Museum where she and fellow members raised more than $75, 000 for the renovation of the imposing facilities by selling handkerchiefs and books! Aileen was also chosen as Queen of the Ogden City Pioneer Day Parade, July 24, 2001.
Preceded in death by her husband, Don Cooper Larson, and her son Michael Don Larson. Aileen is survived by her daughters Susan Yetive Larson Nielsen and Kathy Aileen Larson Bingham; also 11 natural grandchildren, two adopted grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a score of nieces & nephews!
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, visitation for Aileen will be from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Clarkston Chapel, followed by her funeral at noon and interment in the Clarkston City Cemetery.
