Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ada Lucille Balling Landon, 84, passed away at Logan, Utah on Monday, April 26, 2004. Lucille was born August 24, 1919, in Shelley, Idaho to Max A. and Clara M. Balling. She had one sister, Maxine. Her childhood and school years was spent in Shelley, Idaho. She married Gale Harvey Landon on July 3, 1938. Their marriage was later solemnized on February 25, 1948 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. They became parents to five children, three daughters and two sons. Lucille was a lifelong, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions for the church, including the Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School, and Mutual organizations. She also helped in community positions of PTA president and 4-H sewing instructor. She worked at Sears, LDS Hospital Idaho Falls and Bingham Memorial Blackfoot
for many years. Her specialties included sewing, cooking, crafts, stained glass, and BIG family Sunday and Holiday dinners. She was always very thoughtful of everyone?friends, family, relatives. She especially loved her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Bonnie David Gooch of Tidewater, Oregon; Patricia Kent Frandsen of Providence, Utah; Scott Patty Landon of Woods Cross, Utah; daughter-in-law, Lynn Landon of Blackfoot, Idaho; 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and three on the way. She is preceded in by her parents, sister, Maxine Tinman; her husband, Gale Landon; her daughter Lynette Landon; a son, Brent Landon and a granddaughter Shuree Landon. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Firth and Dr. Ali Ben-Jacob for their thoughtful care. The family also wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Logan House, Rocky Mountain Hospice and all who contributed to her comfort. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 30, 2004 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home, Shelley, Idaho under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home, Logan, Utah. Services commemorating Lucille?s life will follow in the Nalder Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be directly after chapel services in the Shelley Cemetery.
