William J Van Dyke

William J. Van Dyke, 60, peacefully passed away at his home in Millville on Friday, July 31, 2009. Bill was born in Lewiston, UT on December 21, 1948 to Don Carlos and Calva Jorgenson Van Dyke. Bill spent his whole life in Cache Valley, living in Lewiston, Logan and Millville. He received his Bachelor of Science in Food Science & Business Management from Utah State University. Bill worked at Century 21 N&N Realtors for over 30 years. Bill was active in the LDS Church where he served willingly and diligently. He was called to serve in the West Spanish American Mission and remained a missionary from the day he was called until the day he died. Bill married Deon Nyman on October 30, 1970. They later divorced. On February 14, 2004 he married Dana Lee Curtis. Bill loved basketball, gardening and spending quality time, especially vacationing, with his kids and grandkids. Bill is survived by his wife Dana Lee Van Dyke, six children and four step children: Barry Janel Van Dyke, Annette Jeremy Jones, Ben Kristyn Van Dyke, Trina Rob Thomas, Dezie Van Dyke, Bill Van Dyke, Adrienne Martin Borg, Natalie John Landwehr, Kelby Nelson, Amber Nathan Waters and 20 loving grandchildren. He is also survived by eight siblings: Larell, Laroy, Calvin, Guy, Donna, Pauline, Patricia and Carla. Bill is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brielle Jones. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Millville 2nd Ward Chapel, 360 East 450 North, Millville. There will be a viewing held on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and Wednesday prior to the services at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the Millville Cemetery.
