Funeral Directors
 | G. Ward Taylor, Funeral Director gwtaylor@rogersandtaylor.com
Ward began his funeral service experience in 1963 while working for Sterling Nelson at Nelson Funeral Home while attending Utah State University. After graduating from Utah State University in Marketing, Ward attended the California College of Mortuary Science (Los Angeles). After graduating from college, Ward joined his father-in-law, Wilford Rogers, at Rogers Mortuary (now Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home) in Tremonton. In 1979, Ward once again become affiliated with Nelson Funeral Home in Logan and Smithfield. Ward has dedicated his life to service having served in numerous church positions, and as President of the Utah Funeral Directors Association, member of the Utah State Funeral Service Licensing Board, President of the Tremonton Kiwanis Club, and Member of the Bear River Chamber of Commerce. He has also been instrumental in developing a program to assist families with young children in explaining, understanding, and being involved at the time of death of a family member. Ward and Lynette Taylor live in Tremonton where they raised a family of two boys and two girls. A man who loves his profession, Ward has often commented that he feels sorry for anyone who is not a funeral director.

A native of Cache Valley, Michael attended Ricks College, Utah State University and graduated from Mt. Hood Community College (Gresham, Oregon) in funeral service. Prior to joining Nelson funeral Home in 1982, Mike worked at Webb Funeral Home in Preston, Idaho and Bergin Funeral Chapel, In Shoshone, Idaho. Mike is currently the Manager of Nelson Funeral Home in Logan and Smithfield. In addition to being very active in church service, Mike has served as a Director of the Utah Funeral Directors Association and as a member of the Logan Kiwanis Club, and the Lion's International Club in Smithfield. Having lost his father at a very young age has made Michael a particularly sensitive and kind funeral director. Mike and his wife, Julie, have four daughters and reside in Smithfield. |

A graduate of Utah State University in Business Finance, David also holds Masters degrees in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota. In the health care field David worked as an internal consultant for Mercy Health Services (Farmington Hills, Michigan) and was administrator of a rural hospital in the Mercy system. In 1996, David left health care to join a family business, Nelson Funeral Home (Logan and Smithfield) and Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (Tremonton). David graduated from Mt. Hood Community College in Funeral Service Education in 1998 and subsequently received his funeral director license. He is currently serving as General Manager of the funeral homes. David has served or is currently serving as a Director of the Utah Funeral Directors Association, President of the Greater Smithfield Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Bridgerland Community Ice Arena, a member of the Logan Regional Hospital Community Relations Committee, member of the Aggie Auction Committee, and as local leader with the Boy Scouts of America. He, his wife, Laurel, and two sons make their home in Logan. |

Joseph has been a resident of Cache Valley since 2000. He relocated with his wife from Tremonton, where they were both raised. Before his employment at Nelson/Roger & Taylor Funeral Homes, Joe served an LDS Mission to Tallahassee, Florida. He received his education from Utah State University and graduated from Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado, with his degree in Mortuary Science. Joe and his wife, Amanda are the parents of two daughters and currently live in Logan. |

John was raised in Blackfoot, where he decided to be a Funeral Director. He is a graduate of Blackfoot High School, Ricks College, and Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Indiana. John, his wife, Jessica, and two daughters live in Garland. John fulfilled his apprenticeship in Idaho Falls with Wood Funeral Home. John and Jessica feel it an honor to live and work in the Bear River Valley.

 | Joe Rudd
Joe was born and raised in West Fielding and has lived in the Bear River Valley all of his life. Prior to working in the funeral industry, Joe worked at Lazy-Boy, ATK Thiokol and at Rudd Farms as a general partner. Joe earned a two-year certificate in Building Construction at Bridgerland Applied Technology College in Logan.
He is currently receiving his education at Utah State University in Logan and is also in the mortuary program at Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado. Joe has held several leadership positions in the Boy Scouts of America and in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Between Joe and his lovely wife, Rachell, they have three children. Because of his love for people and working with them, he decided to go into the funeral business. He finds it very rewarding and satisfying.

Planning Counselors |

Born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, Larry moved to Utah when he was two years old and has lived in the Tremonton area ever since. A graduate of Bear River High School, Larry has also attended Stevens Henager Business College, University of Utah, Brigham Young University, and Utah State University. Prior to becoming a Funeral Planning Counselor, he worked for the Del Monte Corporation for 18 years as a Field Supervisor and Warehouse Supervisor. An active member of the community, Larry has been a member of the Lions International and has served as a District Chairman for the Golden Spike District, Trapper Trails Council, of the Boy Scouts of America. Larry and his wife Joyce have three daughters, one son, and 12 grandchildren. Larry states that he loves serving and caring for the needs of people. |

Debbie, born and raised in Preston, Idaho is definitely a Cache Valley native. She has lived in Logan for the past nineteen years, raising her family of four children as a single parent. She is active in church activities and loves being a mother of three sons and a daughter, which keeps her very busy. She has worked in the medical field for various Cache Valley physicians over the years and has enjoyed the transition to her current position as Office Manager at Nelson Funeral Home. Her medical experience allows her to bring a unique perspective of care and compassion to those she serves.

 | Jill Howard, Office Manager
Jill was raised in Fielding, Utah and has lived in the Bear River Valley all of her life. She has been active in many community projects and groups including The Garland Charity Playhouse and served as the Bear River Girl Scouts Service Unit Director for two years. Jill is very involved in church activities and currently serves as Stake Relief Society President. Jill and her husband are the parents of four children. She enjoys meeting and serving people in any walk of life.
